2023 BONUS STATS

Hello! I (Alex) am so humbled to be the new League Manager for The Deer Critics Fantasy League. I was always so impressed by the energy and passion that Micah put into being our League Manager since 2019. He was great at getting our Facebook chat started, and even now, he seems to always know how to keep some conversation going that’ll get us all talking. I especially loved his quarterly videos for our league. Micah consistently improved in his editing & production skills, all while bringing us fun league updates and some talking points to discuss with whichever guest he brought on with him.

Now, as cool as I think those are, I have never once edited a video…

But, I thought maybe through a little blog site like this, I could help to keep us updated on the latest status of our league in a similar way to what we had through those YouTube videos. And so, welcome to our first monthly (or quarterly if it proves to be too time consuming) update post. This post is labeled BONUS STATS, because in addition to a post discussing how things are going after Month 1 in our 2024 league, I compiled some info from last year that I thought you all would appreciate.

Here’s the 2023 BONUS STATS that I compiled:

I wanted to show some statistics of how we ended up after the 2023 league. Some of the stats are quite obvious (“The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom” got Micah a lot of points for instance), but I thought others weren’t so obvious until we looked again (Amanda’s valuable pickup of “Let’s Revolution” netted her 20pts and was the most valuable pickup of the year besides “Super Mario Bros. Wonder”).

Take a few minutes when you have time to look through these things and let me know:

  • Is it easy to Understand / or Confusing
  • Is it something you’d like to see more of / or not
  • Is it easy to read / or Hard to read via this format
  • Are some of the “Red” stats too mean spirited / or is it fun

You’ll also see that one of the stats is for Career Averages. I thought that this might give people a little insight as to how they stack up year after year. If you’d like more of this kind of thing, I can make it available to you.

Leave some comments down below or in the Facebook chat to let me know that you looked at this. THANKS, and take care!

-Alex C.
